Early life

Raised by an anthropologist and a retired barber, Kes grew up with a nurtured interest in far-off places.2and a smart haircut, courtesy of her other parent. She attended classes at Southern Torstop where she was reportedly a difficult student,3She was noted on one school report as ‘the instigator of any sort of nonsense imaginable,’ ‘hopelessly distractible,’ and prone to ‘daydreaming constantly, when not blurting out some gibberish.’ and, after her fifth year yielded very little progress in the way of education, her parents invested in a private school.4Elwenaren Academy, named in honor of Elwe Surisse.

Musical education

Professional career

Kes saw the most success as a composer; while an impressive musician, he was not trained as a performer or entertainer. His most notable works include Entreaty to the Leaves, which he wrote in collaboration with Orianna.

She also works as a translator-interpreter during street festivals as a steadier job to support her composing; Kes is fluent in Cithhur, Khym-cithhur, and Sign.
