pelemble
A small rocklike insect native to the Waste. Due to its segmented body, sandy coloration, and tendency to investigate by ‘licking’ items with a modified mouthpart, it is occasionally mistaken for a pelsket.
Sometimes referred to colloquially as pebblebugs or fizzy-stones. The former name refers to how the pelembles sleep in piles to stay warm through the desert night, while the latter refers to the buzzing vibration they will exhibit to startle predators into dropping them.
