Obligatory Easter Egg

In keeping with the meta nature of this site, the Easter Egg is a list of Easter Eggs:

  • Leonard and Sock originated as joke characters.
    • Leonard was based on a minor character of the same name1To the best of my knowledge, he currently has nothing in common with the original Leonard excepting his name. in a story written by my brother, the joke being that my brother often stole my character’s names for his original stories.2Perhaps the very definition of an in-joke.
    • Sock’s troublemaking tendencies were likewise based on a “mischievous lizard-like alien creature” named Tsatl.3Judging by pronunciation only; I never saw it written down.
  • The original Map of Eluthisura was based on the area behind my house.4Specifically the Forest of Silence (a group of shrubs; tall to a twelve-year-old), the Waste (drought-cracked ground), and the Deeps (a split in the ground; likely greater than five feet in depth).
  • The table of contents on each page is numbered in Greek for two reasons.51.) Using alphanumeric characters made the spacing visually displeasing.
2.) As a toddler, I became bored of the English alphabet song, so my mother taught me the Greek alphabet (sung to the same tune).
